Who I am
Ben Redwood, plasterer
I’m Ben, and Sequoia Plastering is my business: an independently run, professional plastering service for Glastonbury and the rest of Somerset. I’ve been plastering for over 20 years, and I cover all aspects of the trade, from a single ceiling to taking a whole house back to the brick and plastering it again.
A lot of that time has been spent in the kind of buildings you find around here: stone cottages and farmhouses with thick walls and old beams, barn conversions with vaulted ceilings, and new builds and extensions that need walls flat enough to hang a kitchen on. You can see jobs going back to 2016 on the Sequoia Plastering Facebook page.
Customers tend to say the same things about the work: a smooth finish, a tidy job and someone who turns up and stays until it’s done. That’s the standard I hold myself to.

The right fix, not the easy one
If your plaster is blown, a skim won’t hold. I’ll tell you what your walls actually need, even when it’s the smaller job.
Respect for your home
Floors protected, furniture covered, and the room cleaned up at the end of every day. Plastering is messy; your house shouldn’t be.
Old buildings understood
Solid stone walls, beams and lime: older Somerset properties need materials that let the wall breathe, and I know the difference.
